Today’s Early Bird special is Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card!
Sakura is based off of her appearance in the “CLEAR” opening for the series and her design is so beautiful! ‧⁺◟( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ ·̫ ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ )
Let’s first take a look at her outfit. Her snow angel outfit has been recreated to be even more divine in real life! The trail of frills from her Flight bow flow from behind and swell into a perfect frame for Sakura. Painter Kenji Sugi explained the difficulties of combining translucent and transparent paints to create the ethereal delicacy of the outfit, but it really looks amazing!
Even without bright lights, the skill and detail of the painting makes her outfit really shine!
The frills on her tutu are the perfect accompaniment to her Flight bow. The tips are sculpted to flutter gently in the wind, creating a wispy and lightweight look. （*’∀’人）♥
And check out her happy expression! ( ﾟ▽ﾟ)/ Her bright green eyes and open mouth will make you smile just as big!
Another great detail are the sharp crystals that emerge from below like a small wall. Their light blue color adds such a nice contrast to Sakura’s delicate appearance.
Sakura also holds onto her Dream form Sealing Wand, which has been faithfully. In the center is a six-pointed star, with a small five-pointed star adorning the ends of each point. The golden spikes branch out, almost like rays of sunlight, and a pair of white wings complete the staff.
Sakura is posed floating onto the Clear Card, which combines many of the same breathtaking painting techniques as her Flight bow. The coloring of the card also helps it pop and add a nice balance to Sakura and the other decorative elements. ⊂(▀¯▀⊂)
