You know your waifu has truly made it when they start getting very random figure designs. The Re:Zero girls have enjoyed some very interesting concepts over the years and it seems like the figure releases aren't slowing down.
The lovable twin sisters, Ram and Rem have captured the hearts of fans worldwide with their endearing personalities and quirks.
Ram, with her stunning pink hair, enchants with her sharp wit and unwavering determination. Her strong spirit and fierce loyalty make her a force to be reckoned with in the series.
Rem, on the other hand, captivates with her gentle nature and heartwarming kindness. Don't let her soft demeanor fool you though, as she is just as formidable as her sister.
The recently announced Rem and Ram figures from FuRyu are particularly eye-catching, in part due to the twist. A military version of the duo may have you asking… why? Why are these maids toting assault rifles and why do I want it so badly?
Maids, Armed and Dangerous!
Great attention to detail, vibrant colors and high quality are synonymous with the F:NEX lineup from FuRyu and these figures don’t disappoint. Keeping their original maid costumes intact, FuRyu added just enough flair for the military aesthetic to shine through.
The expressions on Rem and Ram’s faces are distant and cool while simultaneously still having a hint of cuteness.
Incorporating the headsets into the maid hairband was well done and helps preserve the girls original attire but add to the military depth. In addition, the color choice for the actual headphones and strap were spot on.
FuRyu kept the color scheme consistent throughout all of the additional highlights right down to the shoelaces. This kind of attention to detail really makes these figures shine. As the sisters look identical aside from the different hair, eye and ribbon coloring, keeping the theme of opposite highlighting was very appropriate.
As for the actual military additions, they were kept fairly minimal. The obvious additions to the outfit are the ammo pouch and equipment belt around their waists…
…ripped up stockings, tactical gloves and weapon cases…
…and very nicely detailed assault rifles. One subtle detail that really stands out is the choice of neon green coloring for the scope of Rem’s rifle.
Those additions along with proper posing and facial expressions were all that is needed to create a sense of tension and make these armed maids come to life!
FuRyu is also well known for their ability to create realistic texture in clothing and fabric for their figures. The frills all over the maid costumes look amazing! The way the outfits lay and conform to Rem and Ram feels appropriate and the shading they have done is top notch.
The easiest way to showcase FuRyu’s amazing painting talent is to point out the girls knees. With the tights being stretched in this area, FuRyu painted this in a way that makes them look slightly more sheer.
The pedestals really solidify the theme for the figures and detailed bases are always appreciated. Rem and Ram can be displayed separately but they have been designed so the bases can be lined up. The pair together looks absolutely stunning and would be a great addition to any collection.
