The merciful Good Smile Company has announced the release of Taki Tachibana and Mitsuha Miyamizu from the masterpiece movie “Your Name”! Makoto Shinkai’s opus barrelled through dimensions, moving our hearts with all media possible: from novel to animation and, finally, to figures!
If you happen to have the movie’s poster, then these figures are a perfect match for you: they reenact that same scene! They both look back, having heard the bells ringing during a fateful encounter. (◕o◕✿)
Taki looks up from the dullness of his life in Tokyo. Even a glittering city can lose its luster in the daily grind of work and study, and stress eats away at your hopes for the future. But he wears on his wrist a reminder of what’s to come...even if he doesn’t know it yet!
Take a moment to appreciate the detail on his messenger bag: the metallic effect on the buckles, the straps that curl outward from years of use, the leather stretching under the weight of his textbooks.
Mitsuha looks down on the valleys and fields she’s grown to know like the back of her hand. Life in a small town lacking the minimum for a high schooler to thrive can be just as wearisome. Teenagers are fickle creatures: too little and they’re bored, too much and they’re still bored.
