Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”
The literal hype train has finally pulled into the station — Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train is out in Japan!
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke are tackling their latest mission to investigate disappearances on a mysterious train alongside Flame Pillar Rengoku Kyojuro. (ノ^ヮ^)ノ*:・゚✧
Little do they know the last of the Lower Moons is waiting for them...and has a mission of his own from Muzan.
“If you can kill the boy with the hanafuda earrings, I’ll give you even more of my blood.”
That’s bad news for our heroes, but oh man are we ready to see more of ufotable’s glorious fight scenes.╰(✧∇✧╰)
We’re also excited to see more of Kyujuro (and figures of him)! He has a couple prize and kuji figures lined up, but we’re thrilled to announce that there’s a brand new Shop Exclusive from Aniplex that’s available for pre-order now!
The onslaught of Demon Slayer merch doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon — Bandai also has a Figuarts mini of him and the rest of the pillars up for pre-order~
Of the many figures we’ve been blessed with so far, we have to say that Kotobukiya’s ARTFX J take on Nezuko, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu are still among the nicest figure sets. (Inosuke and Giyuu are still in the prototype phase!)
However, if you’re in the mood for something cuter, the Kimetsu no Yaiba Nendoroid lineup has you covered. (^▽^)
In terms of actually watching the movie, if they didn’t crash a major theater’s site in the virtual stampede to snag pre-sale tickets, Japanese fans were met with sluggish loading speeds and equally torturous wait times. Σ(・口・)
“At exactly 12 a.m., every movie theater ticket reservation site (I checked) blew up. 70k people waiting!? Lol
I think I’ll give up on seeing Kimetsu no Yaiba this weekend…”
Oof...we don’t envy that, but we’re glad everything worked out in the end:
“I got a ticket!”
Thai fans won’t have to wait much longer (and will hopefully have an easier time buying tickets); Japan Anime Movie Thailand has confirmed the movie will release on Nov. 5. Golden Screen Cinemas in Malaysia, meanwhile, posted a trailer on their YouTube channel announcing limited screenings on Oct. 31. o(≧∇≦o)
The rest of Southeast Asia and the international fandom are still waiting on confirmed release dates — it looks like North American fans won’t see a theatrical release until 2021. ( ´༎ຶㅂ༎ຶ`)
The day anime movies get simultaneous global releases on streaming platforms isn’t here yet, but until then, there are plenty of figures out there to make the wait a little more bearable.
...And, if we can tempt you, the Mugen Train Arc covers chapters 54 to 69 in the manga. (´∀`;)
