This is my second Proof figure, I wasn’t a fan of their Nazuna Nanakusa figure, it’s got a terrible upside down pose and a really wonky sculpt, but this figure is much better. I just thought I would like it more than I do, the quality of the figure is pretty good, although not as good as companies like Alter or Amakuni.

First off is the pose, I’m not a huge fan of how she’s sort of hunched down holding the gun, it would have looked much better if she was leaning back against the back part of the gun base with the barrel of the gun just resting on her leg. This is a figure you’re going to need to display higher up if you can, you cannot see her face properly below eye level because of how her face is tilted down.

Next is the shading & sculpt, her socks, scarf & boots all have nice shading, her ponytail has some shading, but the hair on her head has none, this is a big miss, there should be nice shading on all of the hair of a figure this price. I’m not a huge fan of the skin tone & shading it could be better, I much prefer how companies like Pure, Pink Charm, SkyTube do the skin on their figures. The sculpt is good, everything looks nice, the socks squeeze in on the top of her legs to give the impression that they’re tight, some companies do this better than others, this one looks very good.

QC issues, there’s no major paint bleeding, it all looks good, the main issue is her ponytail doesn’t go all the way in, I wasn’t able to push it fully in and it has left a gap on one side, not sure if this is just a fault with my copy or not, it’s not a big issue as you can’t see it from the front. I did take it back out of the case the next day & try again but it just won’t go fully in.
She doesn’t key tightly onto the base, she has a low wide key that basically just sits into place, she feels wobbly but I tried to push her off the base & she doesn’t fall, the key does hold her in place, so even if you bump her she shouldn’t fall off the base.

The gun base looks pretty good, there’s not much shading on the gun but it still looks good. I just wish they had made the gun the entire base and not had the little round sub base, it would have looked much better. I just hate plain bases like that, they could have at least put a pattern on it to match the design of the gunmen.

So overall the figure looks really nice, I just had really high expectations so I felt a little letdown with it, but if this is one of your first figures you’ll probably think it’s amazing, so if you want a Yoko figure you won’t go wrong with this, definitely pull the trigger.

By far, the best Gurren Lagann figure on the market. The style of the sculpt and the vibrant paint job just screams "GURREN LAGANN". The biggest issue with the figure is that it's not the most stable. Yoko is fixed to her spot by a small indentation and the gun is a bit tricky to properly fit in her hunched over position, however the final result is visually striking in the best way.
