Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”

For otaku, Akihabara is the closest thing we can call paradise on earth. As such the 2009 visual novel, Steins;Gate holds a special place to many. Set in Akihabara, many of the locations shown in the series are more than familiar. Akiba has seen its fair share of changes over the years so both the anime and visual novel are historical preservations of what once was. Despite the change in times and trends, there are still some locations around that let you relive the story in real life. Overseas fans of the series should most definitely visit cafe Mailish if you get the chance. You may notice some very coincidental similarities to MayQueen+Nyan², the maid cafe where Faris and Mayuri worked along with a few extra goodies…

This past October marked the 15th anniversary of the visual novel and sparked renewed interest with pop up events, new merchandise and various collaborations including an adorable cross-over with the Monogatari series.

You may have noticed an uptick in figures as well and it seems like it isn't slowing down anytime soon. This time Solarain is bringing us a swimsuit collection for Suzuha, Kurisu and Mayuri! An additional racing style figure of Kurisu is also being planned.

Kurisu Makise, the main heroine of the game, is a scientific genius and extremely talented. She has a bit of a tsundere side to her and as a brainiac tends to be more stoic and serious most of the time. This figure does a great job showing her with a listless pose while still retaining her unmistakable, frosty expression.

I love the inclusion of her iconic necktie and the design of her top. The added zipper and tie combo is a further nod to her analytical nature but unexpectedly complements her relaxed pose.

Bikini figures are usually fairly simple due to the lack of intricate outfits but the added floaty and soda bottle give a bit of playfulness.

Solarian did a fantastic job with the sculpt. Bikini figures are generally meant to be bishoujo ones so emphasizing the female form well is an essential part of a good product.

Next up we have the childhood friend and airhead, Mayuri Shiina. Mayuri’s figure is equally as fun and captures her character's warmth and boundless energy.

The childhood friend trope here gives Mayuri a little bit of a bland pose and reserved outfit. While Kurisu’s figure could seem like she was on a date, Mayuri’s is very much just a couple of pals having fun in the sun.

Solarian still keeps the sculpt looking good and there is enough detail shown to still be a good bishoujo figure.

Mayuri’s treasured Upa turned beach ball is the perfect homage to her traditional character and helps match the relaxed style shown in Kurisu’s figure. It captures those carefree summer days we wish would never end.

Each figure has a similar ocean themed base with their name written. It is simple but is a nice finishing touch to complement the theme.

Finally we have the sporty, time travelling Suzuha Amane. Even in a swimsuit, Suzuha’s energetic spirit is hard to miss.

Suzuha’s dynamic, battle-ready pose contrasts beautifully with the laid-back summer theme but is still kept light and playful. The water gun and cheerful grin balance the visual making it fit in seamlessly with the others.

While her bikini might have some militaristic accessories, the overall design retains a touch of cool nonchalance, blending action and subtle charm.

The durable bikini belt will ensure no wardrobe malfunctions while taking on the enemy and the shoulder holster keeps you guessing what else she might have at her disposal. Although I don’t actually see a holster…

Like Kurisu and Mayuri, Solarian made sure that the sculpt is something bishoujo figure collectors will want.

Each figure has its own unique charm and would look great individually but they do elevate each other when displayed as a trio. If you love all of them, there is a bundle to purchase all three together.

These figures are currently scheduled to be released in May of 2026. If you don’t want the collection but like one or two of them, Kurisu, Mayuri and Suzuha can be purchased separately.
Thank you for reading!
