After a few warm days, the cold is back, because it’s still winter after all. Those teasers of spring are really getting to my cabin fever. o(｀^´*)
However, since we’re in the middle of a pandemic, going out remains a hazardous activity. Thankfully, we have anime to help us live vicariously through our favorite characters! And today we’re taking a look at the new muse of the iyashikei genre, Shima Rin!
This adorable nendoroid is riding to our store at the end of this month! Do you have the campsite and the fire ready for her? (please don’t charge her too much).
She comes with a helmet, of course, because she just got her license. Safety first!
I can’t help but love her expression. I, too, make that face when I am thoroughly enjoying things on my own. Writer-san has a severe case of resting bad face. （ ￣ー￣ ）
Just so we’re clear: Rin-chan is not texting while riding! She chats with her friends from the safety of the side of the road. And she also waves at live cam feeds for a weird but ingenious update on her whereabouts!
Now that we’ve stopped, let’s take a look at her travel companion, the blue moped. On a previous nendo, it made only a symbolic appearance as a plate. Now we get to have the actual thing!
This is the MVP of the solo camp team: the one that drives Rin-chan up and down country roads to the most secluded campsites and to the best views of Mount Fuji. It doesn’t lose any detail in this cutified nendo version!
Not even its personality is lost! The set includes a text plate to attach to it and recreate the scene at Takabochi Highlands. After 150km I think it is justified to have some sentience, just to say how tired you are (´∀｀；) Thank you for your hard work, Moped-san!
And it has night vision capabilities! You can install Hiromi Sangyo’s 316w LED in the headlight, but it is not included in the set. Definitely consider adding it, however! How else can Shima Rin reach the best viewpoints to get the best pictures of the city and Mount Fuji at night?
We’ve reached the campsite and set up our tent. Now comes the best part: the food! Shima Rin has some tasty meat buns prepared inside her little skillet, and she’s already digging in!
Other than camping skills, this series is also all about the food; I love how we get to learn easy and yummy campfire recipes with each episode!
It’s a simple step up from the tired old marshmallows and hot dogs. Those are nice, but let’s be frank, they’re not dinner! Especially not when you camp with a certain pink-haired glutton.
Those meat buns won’t last long around Nadeshiko, so make sure to keep them far from her.
