Pre-Order Alpha Now!

Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”
If you are a fan of LAM’s stylish illustrations, then Plantopia is a project that has likely caught your eye. A collaborative figure project by Twin Engine, Good Smile Company and Max Factory, Plantopia brings original character designs by LAM to life. Inspired by the concept of "Flowerians," human-like beings with plant motifs, Plantopia has become a highly anticipated venture. One of the most eye-catching Flowerians is Alpha, a cherry blossom-themed warrior with a striking weapon and a graceful pose.

The Birth of Plantopia

Launched in 2022, Plantopia embarked on a journey to transform LAM's imaginative Flowerian creations into high-quality figures. LAM is a popular illustrator who has worked on various anime and game projects, such as Takt Op., Touken Ranbu and Nijisanji.
LAM is known for their colorful and detailed art style, as well as unique character designs that blend fantasy and sci-fi elements. Their unique style is fully showcased in the Hatsune Miku figures they designed!
Plantopia was funded through a crowdfunding campaign that exceeded its original goal by three times, reaching over 14 million yen. The project attracted a lot of attention from various supporters like Twin Engine, the powerhouse behind anime titles like Dororo, Vinland Saga, and Zom 100. Throwing its support behind the project, they created a promotional music video which uses Mafumafu's song Lost Paradise.

A Great Figure Concept With a Story to Go Along With It!

As the project continues to grow, more creators are being added. Currently there is a novel by Nozomu Kuoka being serialized to breathe more life into this fantasy concept. The basic premise is that In the far future, plants swallowed civilization and Flowerians were born. Taking on a human shape with characters of a flower, these Flowerians became Earth's new caretaker. One day, a human girl suddenly appears into the world. Since humans had become extinct, the Flowerians were perplexed, but determined to interact with her. Alpha was the Flowerian who discovered the girl.

Meet Alpha – The Blossoming Warrior

Alpha takes center stage as one of Plantopia's main characters and the inaugural figure release. Alpha is the Flowerian of Cherry Blossoms and is blunt, clumsy and unfriendly. She does not get along well with other Flowerians, but does have a caring side. Alpha wields a formidable ax-like weapon that embodies the cherry blossom. The handle is nicely designed and mimics that of a tree branch. The pink blade and tassel can cut through the air with the grace of falling cherry blossom petals.

Dressed in an outfit adorned with cherry blossom motifs, Alpha's design embodies the essence of spring. The color scheme of white, pink and black create good visual contrast and the gold highlights throughout are eye catching.
The flowing nature of her outfit matches perfectly with the cherry blossom aesthetic. Alpha’s pink hair and red eyes complement each other nicely and highlights her beauty and elegance.
The figure also has a dynamic pose that shows Alpha’s elegance and strength, as well as a gentle expression that conveys her personality. Alpha's figure is also crafted from zinc alloy and plastic, showcasing the craftsmanship and technology of Good Smile Company and Max Factory that collectors have come to expect.
This figure exhibits a meticulous attention to detail capturing the atmosphere of LAM’s illustration, while also adding realistic elements such as the moss growing on the rocks.

The Plantopia project is sure to continue growing so keep an eye out for more news if you find it interesting! With enough success we may even get an anime or game adaptation.

Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed this one!
