Do you hear that boss music? (ノдヽ) No, not the cheery bossa coming from the tiki bar. I meant the screeching violins and choir chanting unintelligible fantasy language. Yeah, can you hear it now? That’s because our favorite chuunibyou is coming to our store!
She lands on January 30th with an explosion of summer to warm up this dreadful, plagued winter we’ve been having. Seriously, what a boss fight 2020 was! And now we’re dealing with its spawn, aptly named “2020 won”. (｀▽´) Don’t hate me for that one, please. I’m sorry for the bad pun. ('A`)
But otakus’ stats tend heavily towards constitution, as our unwavering positivity (and for some, yours truly included, naturally reclusive disposition) helps us fight on. The advent of Megumin with the promise of a carefree summer is enough to reinvigorate us! I feel warm just looking at the preview! (^ω^)
The golden accents of her beach cover shimmer in the sunlight. Her dark hair flows with the seabreeze as she readies her serve. Those crimson eyes however… they tell me she won’t go easy in this match. (⊃д⊂) Reroll and respec for optimal defense, if you can!
Megumin’s youthful figure splashes the crystal clear waves that lap gently at the white sand. In a strategic outfit selection, she covers up her… lack (≧▽≦) of assets under pink and yellow ruffles, and the white and gold beach cover balance her sunshine look quite well!
However, as her top catches the wind, it reveals something else, hinting at her blooming beauty! ( ͡ ͜ʖ ͡ )
The splashing water is a pleasant, crystalline blue, one that makes you long for the refreshing touch of the sea and wet sand on a hot summer’s day… ( ˘ω˘ )
Speaking of sand, can we take a moment to appreciate the detail on the base? It looks perfectly like sand tossed by the waves. It’s small things like these that bring figures to life!
Out of the three figures to be released by Kadokawa, hers seems to be the only one that received pristine water features like that.
Which is absolutely perfect, since it matches Megumin’s bright and excited personality!
Though out of the three I will say she is the absolute worst possible opponent... I have a feeling that the beach ball will N O T just bounce off someone’s head. (‘A`)
Her trusty leather belt slipped from the waist to the thigh, where it also serves the purpose of keeping her signature bandages-and-tights pairing. It keeps the uneven aesthetic she seems to prefer while also keeping her INT stats high.
In fact, stats may be the reason for keeping the belt and the choker; the latter is a small detail, easily lost when you’re too busy enjoying her bright smile, but it’s there. Though I hope there is sunscreen in this fantasy world, because she may regret the mark those accessories are going to leave after a day of fun in the sun!
Or it could add to her eccentric aesthetic, who knows? Chuunis. ┐(´～｀)┌
