Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”
If you are a fan of harem anime, you might have seen your fair share of clichés and tropes that often plague the genre. You know, the dense and indecisive protagonist, the generic and interchangeable love interests, the lack of plot and character development, etc. But what if an anime was self aware of these typical trashy issues? By leaning into these troupes and going over the top, one harem anime subverts all expectations and delivers a hilarious and heartwarming story with a unique premise. Well, that’s exactly what you get with The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You (Hyakkano).
The story follows Rentarou Aijou, a high school student who has confessed to (and been rejected by) 100 girls in his lifetime. On the last day of middle school, he visits a shrine and prays for better luck in high school. After 100 rejections can even divine intervention save you? Well in Hyakkano, yes, yes it can! The God of Love appears and tells Rentarou that due to a small mistake his love life was delayed until high school.
There are plenty of fish in the sea but if you are lucky enough to meet your soulmate it must be something truly special. That small mistake… Rentarou is destined to have 100 soulmates, which is to begin when he enters high school. Getting your pick of 100 different partners sounds great! However, there is a catch: once destiny introduces someone to Rentarou, the two must happily love each other. If they don’t… they will die. Pretty high stakes for a harem anime. Of course our boy Rentarou being the good guy that he is, can't let that happen. Determined to not let any of his soulmates die, he dates them all at the same time.
The first girls we meet in the series are Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda. Both with very different personalities, but typical archetypes for the harem genre, Hakari is a cheerful and bubbly childhood friend type and Karane is the tsundere.
Being almost polar opposites but competing for Rentarou’s love and affection creates a fun and entertaining story. The differences between them, like Hakari being a great cook and Karane being a skilled martial artist carry over to the new Nendoroids available for pre-order.
Let's take a look and see how they capture the charm and personality of the characters. Hakari’s Nendoroid comes with three face plates: a smiling face, a coy face, and an entranced face.
Accessories include a tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), a homemade bento lunch, and chopsticks giving you plenty of options for childhood friend poses. You can display her as she prepares food for Rentarou or as she shares a romantic moment with him.
Karane’s Nendoroid also comes with three face plates: a tsun face, an dere face, and a tsukkomi face...
...and accessories like a cookie and hand holding part allowing fans to capture Karane's diverse personality and scenes from the series.
The Nendoroids of Hakari and Karane are both faithful to their original designs and expressions from the anime. They have a lot of details and colors that make them look lively and attractive. They also have a lot of options and accessories that make them fun and versatile. You can mix and match their parts with each other or with other Nendoroids to create your own scenes and scenarios. You can also display them together or separately, depending on your preference.
(If you prefer scales, Hakari and Karane also have figures from PLUM that are available for pre-order as well!)
The Nendoroids of Hakari and Karane are a must-have for any fan of Hyakkano or harem anime in general. They are cute, charming, and hilarious, just like the characters they represent. If you want to add some love and laughter to your collection, don’t miss out on these Nendoroids!
These are nendoroids that you will really, really, really, REALLY, really love.
