Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”

The air crackles as the flows of energy are disrupted by a powerful presence. Dark wings cover the sun, hastening the advent of night: the Midnight Phantasmagoria!

Today we’re looking at Alter’s 1/7 scale figure of Fischl and her familiar Oz, the electrifying duo from Monstadt!
Fischl is one of the many remarkable heroes who inhabit Teyvat, the beautiful yet troubled world of miHoYo’s open-world RPG, Genshin Impact. This game draws you in with scenic vistas……and keeps you with a whole host of quirky and lovable characters that you get to meet in your travels. (´ ⌣`ʃƪ)We’ve previously covered many other heroes from the Genshin universe on our blog and YouTube channel. Make sure to check them out! (ღゝ◡╹)ノ

“Hark! ‘Tis thundering retribution.”

The nice thing about collecting figures is that there is no gacha system between you and the character you love. And in the case of Fischl’s figure, you get something that’s thrice as stunning! Alter worked some real-world magic in her figure, and managed to make her more regal than in-game! (✿ꈍᵕꈍ)Usually, Genshin Impact figure design translates almost 1:1 due to the game’s 3D graphics. Xiao, the Traveler Twins, Ganyu, Barbara, Ayaka and Klee are great examples of this:

But with Alter’s Fischl, there's something extra. Take a look at the original splash art and Alter’s scale figure side by side:

My first thought upon seeing the scale figure by Alter was…why does Fischl look so…erm… sexy…?
( *´_ゝ`)

Well, somehow Alter got away with bypassing miHoYo’s policy of (sort of) modest outfits. They cut the transparency on her stockings and the fishnet details to near zero, showing A LOT more skin than what we players are used to. It was even more shocking (pun intended (❛∇❛c)) for me, who only plays her in the Ein Immernachtstraum outfit, which is much more modest. And frilly.
Ꮚ˘ꍓ˘Ꮚ

In-game, those originally transparent textiles are simplified in her character design by just being colored gray. Alter, however, pulls all the stops and restores her goth-y-ness with their rendition of the Prinzessin Der Verurteilung. 👑🖤She’s not the only Genshin figure to receive such treatment, though; the figure of Mona Megistus, released back in 2022 by Good Smile Company (and still available brand new at our store), had an even more dramatic glow-up. (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)⁄ GSC even went so far as to ignore her original splash art and made a super extra pose that somehow manages to be better than the original art. Take a look at the beautiful Astrologist as reviewed by our team on our YouTube channel:Honestly, it even caused a little Mandela effect on me; until I did the double-checking for this article, her GSC pose was the one I remembered seeing when I last lost my 50/50. (⊙_⊙?)

Who would’ve thought that stockings could add a different edge to figures? Even the more demure Keqing, released in 2022 by miHoYo (also available brand new and pre-owned at our store), got a little bit of leg definition with the shading of her stockings:Check out the full review of miHoYo’s 1/7 scale figure of Keqing on our channel! “Wings of darkness, come! Sever night from day!”

Another two points that are much better in the figure compared to in-game are her hair and the golden details in her outfit.✨💫✨

Because of the complementary relationship between purple and yellow, both hues are accentuated. The purples are deeper, and the yellows are brighter; her outfit has a brighter illusion of lightning glow, and her hair seems much more vibrant. In this figure, she looks more like the other-worldly royal she claims to be. The golden details on her dress pop out a lot more, and we get a better metallic effect than in-game. Overall, the duality of night and day are cranked up to 1000 in this figure, which I absolutely love! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

The color palette also allows for Oz’s stand to blend in quite well in this figure:

“The insubordination!”

One nitpick, however, is the simplicity of her base. (〃´∀`)Granted, if the designers at Alter were simply following the splash art, other than the lightning bolts surrounding her, it really doesn’t give them much else to work with. However, out of all the Genshin Impact scale figures released so far, Fischl is the one with the simplest base. A little bit of artistic license to keep the figures consistent would have been welcomed by Fischl fans…
(´・×・`)
It will be up to a loyal and resourceful servant of Verurteilung to prepare an adequate display for her, so she doesn’t look any less beautiful than her fellow Vision-bearers.

This awesome scale figure of Fischl by Alter is scheduled to release at the end of 2024.
