Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”
Hatsune Miku has had numerous makeovers, costumes and fan interpretations. Even still when you think of Hatsune Miku, it’s impossible not to picture the ethereal, twin-tailed digital diva brought to life by illustrator KEI. His artwork defined Miku’s earliest look, and now, nearly two decades later, his vision continues to inspire.
Miku had recently achieved a major milestone accomplishment that is hard to imagine any other character matching. She has managed to reach 100 nendoroids dedicated to all her glory.
The 100th Miku Nendoroid wasn’t just another entry in the long-running series, it was meant to be a celebration of Miku’s evolution and the community that’s grown around her. To commemorate this landmark, Good Smile Company hosted a special exhibition back in March of 2025, before pre-orders were made available.
The design itself was selected via an open costume design contest with the theme of "Adventure", held on the piapro website. Fans were asked to vote on their favorite iteration and the outfit created by Tsuki no Usagi won. Throughout Miku’s life, the community has been a driving force for her success. Community events and contests are regular occurrences and each year we get a few figures directly sourced this way.
The winning costume was then handed over to the original Miku designer, KEI who transformed her into a whimsical traveler ready to embark on her next journey. That illustration became the blueprint for this exquisite scale figure.
Her expression is energetic and hopeful with wide eyes and a big smile. Her pose helps set the scene, giving the feeling of her shielding her eyes from the sun. You can picture Miku approaching a ridge high up, taking in the fantasy world and basking in the warm open world. It is the start of a new adventure and she is inviting you to come along with her.
The color palette is a harmonious blend of soft pastels and metallic accents, with subtle gradients that bring depth to her hair and clothing. The look nails the fantasy aesthetic with our leather clad adventurer ready to sing her heart out at any town she stops at.
Miku’s outfit blends explorer motifs with her signature digital vibe. Accessories like the compass, satchel and weathered paper map provide just enough to fully bring out the adventure theme.
Her signature twintails are rendered in translucent plastic, giving them a light, airy quality that evokes the feeling of wind and movement. The texturing on them and the whiter tips resemble feathers. Part of her hair near her face was designed akin to wings.
Good Smile did this figure justice with good detail in the sculpt. Folds in her clothing and shading are all top notch.
The base pulls it all together situating Miku on a large compass.
100 Miku nendoroids down and thousands of figures later, she is still just as popular as ever. As Miku embarks on her next adventure, fans eagerly await what's in store for the future.
Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed!
