I like buying figures outside of my usual tastes or that don't match the rest of my collection because you occasionally get rewarded. Safe to say that I was well awarded. I'm a fan of monster girls and while this figure leans more towards furry in its design it was still such an amazing design that I had to pick it up
The box is a simple monochrome rectangle that doesn't even have any images of the figure. I wasn't very impressed with the box until I realized it had a flap. Upon opening it, I was greeted with a window where I can see the figure in her plastic clamp shell and an illustration of the character. Simple and minimalistic box but this doesn't impact the quality of the figure itself.
Moriyuki Shion is an original character and seems to be the first in a new line of action figures. Off the bat, they seem to be swinging pretty hard. It shouldn't be a surprise if I admitted that the reason I bought this figure was because it was a curvaceous wolf girl. With such a large chest and wide hips all on a slender frame she looks like a female One Piece character. If you prefer a more lewd figure than this is a good design since this is as about as provocative as she gets. No clothes unlike some of the future figures that are soon to come but also nothing too explicit like nipples or the such. Thanks to her design however she can't stand on her own 2 feet. They don't cover enough surface area to allow her to stay upright without some assistance.
The painting on this figure is breathtaking. The way her fur transitions between colors is immaculate. It's especially good on smaller areas and parts like her ears, ankles and even her face. I was caught off guard by the feeling of the figure. It felt fuzzy. I initially thought it was a defect but I learned that they used flocking powder to help with the fur like texture of the paint. It's more noticable on her ears and tail when you shine a light on them.
This may be just because it's a still new figure but the joints feel awkward. Some are loose while some are stiff. She has good range but not as wide as I initially thought a wolf girl would have. She can't look up very far even though her hair has joints to help her with that. I know not every figure can be the S.H. Figures R Mika but the breaks to allow her legs to spread look horrendous at certain angles.
This good girl comes with a few accessories that feels like an adequate amount for a figure like this. She has a pair of alternate ears to allow you to switch between straight up or drooping. 3 alternate pairs of hands to switch between open, claw, grabbing and sprawled open with her fingers tensed up. A happy faceplate, an angry faceplate and the last face I can only describe as ahegao. She even has a dog bowl and leash if you wanted to display her as more of a pet. Additionally, she comes with her own stand which is great since the figure can't stand on her own.
It's an overall good figure that barely made the cut for me to not have any immediate buyer's remorse. She's equal parts cute and enchanting. This feels more like a niche figure that's meant to suit the tastes for only a certain group of collectors. Satisfactory monster girl, exceptional furry and a decent enough action figure. I can only recommend this figure if you're into monster girls, furries or something different for your array of action figures.
