Where can you find a school of Crimson Demons, the staff of Rabbit House Cafe and the members of Kessoku Band all in one place?
At AnimeJapan! Where all your favorite anime are in one place.
And with the tagline Anime Never Stops! It's every otaku’s paradise to release your inner geek!

AnimeJapan is one of the largest anime conventions in Japan and has become one of the most important to the industry! Celebrating its 10th anniversary, compared to the 2022 event it is back in full swing! Held at Odaiba's Big Sight convention center every year at the end of March, our team got the chance to check it out! And have we got some of the highlights to share with you!
At AnimeJapan you can find booths for players in the anime industry like Aniplex, KADOKAWA, Netflix, Good Smile Company and Square Enix to name a few.
At these booths you can find a plethora of things to tickle your fancy. Some have theaters and stages where they host live shows with appearances by creators and voice actors or give special announcements about future projects and collaborations.
Sadly, photography and recording is not permitted for the stage events but many are recorded and available to view online! In addition, all of the announcements made can be found on their corresponding social media accounts!
You will also find many statues, displays, and posters to fill the venue. For those Dragon Ball Super fans out there, they had life sized statues available for viewing of the main cast!
The FGO booth was one of the busiest with loads of cosplayers…
…and a little AR photo booth to take a picture with your favorite FGO character. The line was over 60 minutes long…so here is a picture from last year…
…just replace Akebi-chan with your choice of servant and you get the idea.
Of course there was plenty of other cosplay as well.
Everywhere is pretty much a great photo op!
Figures are also a fairly big part of AnimeJapan with many recently released, available for pre-order, newly announced and prototype pre production first looks!
One of the most popular series from last year, Lycoris Recoil had several figures from a few different companies on display!
From Aniplex we got this nice set for Chisato and Takina releasing March 2024…
…along with a first look at another swimsuit style set…
…and a work in progress set (with Chisato available for pre-order) from Good Smile Company.
…three FGO figures whose pre-orders have ended (I am totally bookmarking Tamamo Vitch, Abigail, and Nero for later!)...
…and several in the early stages.
My favorite from Good Smile was this set from MacrossF! Hopefully it won't be too much longer before they are available for pre-order because they look great!
Banpresto was also at AnimeJapan showing off a few of their prize figures including Tokyo Revengers (a pretty cool collection)…
…some Gundam: The Witch from Mercury figures releasing in April 2023…
As a fan, AnimeJapan is certainly a fun time if you get the chance to go, but one of the most important parts for production companies is the “Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking.”
It is a poll for the top 10 manga titles that voters would like to see get an anime adaptation. While there is no guarantee that they will get an adaptation, based on previous years, it is safe to say that they will at least be on the radar as possibilities.
