Latex, Lasers, and Loot: Schera Steals the Show

Pre-Order Scheherazade Now!

Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”

If you are going to make a mobile game and focus your advertising on butts, there is a short list of things you should probably avoid. The color brown is one of them. Dust is probably another. Apparently developer Neowiz didn't get that message.

With the many recent, failed triple A gaming titles, there has been a huge push in the gooner direction. Azur Lane is getting skins removed from play stores for being too ecchi, Girls Frontline is embracing feet and Brown Dust II is bringing us all that junk in its trunk.

It's a turn-based strategy RPG set in a fantasy world. Players assemble a team of mercenaries and engage in tactical battles across a variety of story driven maps. With its anime inspired art style and emphasis on… visually striking scenes, it's gotten fairly popular. Truthfully, I've never tried the game but have seen it pop up all over Tokyo in the form of limited time exhibits and advertising campaigns. It's a typical gacha game but offers a blend of exploration, puzzle-solving and visual novel type choices that deepen the RPG experience.

Since the game has seen good success, figures were only a matter of time. Scheherazade, nicknamed Schera, is a 5-star magic DPS character who is an important part of the story. Schera is one of the four main characters in the game and is known for her… elegant design and powerful utility in battle.

Much like her namesake from One Thousand and One Nights, she’s portrayed as clever and composed. Narratively, Schera’s the one guiding others with insight and calm resolve. She is a great blend of lore, charm and tactical excellence. From researching more about this character, and costume, I have found that every one of her skins have a unique dispel effect. That sounds like potential pay to win to me, but if I'm wrong, please let me know in the comments!

One of her costumes, Code Name S is designed for DPS and offers the added effect of silencing enemies. It is also the perfect skin to maintain Brown Dust II’s advertising strategy. A skin tight bodysuit shows the goods.

Apex is known for their ability to recreate visuals incredibly well. We have an action focused pose that is seductive and cute.

The design is unique yet familiar. Dressed in a form fitting black latex suit, she is ready for the ultimate heist. Case in hand, she is ready to make her escape.

Her expression shows a careful, nervous look as she does her best to quietly sneak away. Her hair is incredibly well sculpted too.

Apex did an incredible job with the shading. We can see the areas where the latex would be stretched a bit more and they made sure to detail all of Schera’s body lines.

Again, consistent with their advertising, at least in Japan, the figure is plenty cheeky.

The base is given a futuristic, pressure plate like look. Simple, but completes the overall visual.

The figure is available for an early bird discount and given the high attention to detail and all around quality, it is a steal at the current price point. There are two versions available for pre-order. There is a standard version that includes just the figure and a special edition. The special edition includes an acrylic display case that adds a new dynamic to the visual. Having Schera creep through a maze of lasers is a fun twist and keeps her dust free.

Is there a Brown Dust girl you can't wait to get a figure of? Leave a comment and let us know!
