Artist Spotlight - saitom: Where Precision Meets Provocation

Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”
Step into the world of saitom and you’ll find designs that balance razor-sharp detail with a magnetic, futuristic sensuality. From sleek sci-fi warriors to playful RPG heroines, his character designs have become the heartbeat of the video game industry's iconic faces.

saitom’s characters embody confidence and tease a story, even in static poses. Whether it’s a blade’s glint or a curve’s silhouette, saitom’s work demands attention and rewards closers looks. saitom hails from Hokkaido and after polishing his craft at an art and design school, began illustrating light novels and adult magazines, where he honed his ability to make tough, cute.

His genius isn’t tied to a single medium, it’s a design philosophy that elevates every project. You can often spot a “saitom silhouette” before even checking the box art. Every figure inspired by saitom tells a mini-story. His designs prowl the line between warrior strength and soft allure, inviting you to imagine the moment just before action, or seduction begins. That narrative tension is exactly why his designs make for great figures! Let's dive into some gems.

Hatsune Miku

It's hard to imagine a popular illustrator who hasn't been involved in some sort of Miku collaboration project. In saitom's case, he is responsible for one of the best Miku prize figures. His Natsu no Beach, 3rd Season Summer version Miku design is the perfect example of how to elevate our favorite diva to another level. Balancing the bold bikini design with the jacket creates that signature charm of visually appealing with refined taste. It is very much the usual Hatsune Miku that we know and love, but with a slight shift towards a more ecchi body.

saitom was also responsible for Miku’s 2013 racing design. This concept incorporates more of saitom's RPG game design philosophy. Again, preserving Miku's image is at the forefront but she is given a sleek, sci-fi-esque outfit that enhances her charm.

The costume features sharp lines, metallic accents, and translucent elements that give her a dynamic, high-tech aura.

Her outfit hugs her form with precision, emphasizing her curves while maintaining a sense of athleticism and grace. The gradient effects on her collar and heels, along with the clear PVC used in her twin tails and skirt, add a layer of visual sophistication that elevates the figure beyond typical racing-themed designs.

The figure’s pose is energetic and confident, capturing Miku mid-motion. From the crown perched atop her head to the tips of her fingers, every inch of this sculpt has been meticulously crafted. Her expression is determined yet playful, and cute as always.

Xenoblade

saitom may be best known for his work on Xenoblade. The RPG character designs have become iconic in the industry and have been a source of inspiration for many other artists' work. I had written a blog dedicated to Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s Mio so this time let's journey into the past with 2’s fan favorites, Hikari and Homura.

Known internationally as Pyra and Mythra, these two Aegis Blades are more than just fanservice icons, they’re narrative catalysts, and visual masterworks. saitom’s designs for them are a study in duality: warmth vs. sharpness, restraint vs. power, softness vs. speed.

Homura’s design radiates comfort and empathy. Her red palette, gentle curves, and modest demeanor evoke a sense of warmth, yet she’s anything but passive. saitom balances her softness with angular armor plating and a confident stance that hints at her hidden strength.

Her figure adaptation leans into this duality. The scale by Good Smile Company, captures her serene expression and flowing hair with astonishing fidelity. The flame effects on her sword add a dynamic touch, while the subtle muscle definition in her thighs and arms reminds us that she’s a fighter.

The pose is dynamic without being chaotic, and the paintwork is top-tier. The only downside? You’ll need a wide shelf as her stance demands space.

Where Homura is warmth, Hikari is voltage. saitom’s design for Hikari is unapologetically bold. High-cut armor, piercing gold eyes, and a stance that is very dynamic. Her personality is etched into every line of her silhouette.

The scale figure complements Homura perfectly, with a matching pose and similar design. Her light-element effects swirl around her blade, and the metallic accents on her armor shimmer. saitom’s attention to detail, especially in the layered hair and subtle smirk, makes this figure a collector’s grail for fans.

The sculpt captures her sass and strength, and the clear parts on her blade give it a radiant glow. Display her next to Homura for the full Aegis effect and let these two steal the spotlight.

Original Characters

saitom has several NSFW figures of his original characters. One that is considered safe is Stella.

Before saitom’s Aegis Blades lit up the Xenoblade fandom, he was already crafting original characters that oozed style and attitude. Stella released back in early 2022, was based on saitom’s Devil Fashion concept. She’s not a warrior or mage, just a girl with a bomber jacket, hi-top sneakers and enough attitude to turn heads.

Stella is a great example of saitom unleashed. No lore constraints, no RPG tropes, just pure aesthetic indulgence. Stella’s outfit is a masterclass in layered textures and urban flair. The DF branding shown throughout refers to saitom's original, Devil Fashion idea.

The sculpt is top-tier. The way her shorts dig into her waist, the subtle tension in her thigh highs, and the softness of her exposed skin all reflect saitom’s mastery of form.

Metallic accents on the zipper, matte finish on the jacket, and a slight sheen on her thighs give the figure depth. The color palette of pink, red and green work in a chaotic harmony.

Her smug expression and hips cocked pose, combined with belly button peeking out and pelvis lines leading down shows her unapologetic confidence. saitom’s illustration was already eye-catching and Max Factory’s sculpt makes it tactile.

The saitom hype train is chugging along just fine with a new original, Samurai Bunny Botan recently being revealed. saitom’s latest original character is equal parts bunny girl, battle maiden and biomechanical bombshell!

saitom expertly designed a character that is a fusion of traditional warrior motifs and futuristic fashion, wrapped in his signature sensuality. Her outfit blends armored plating with translucent mesh that mimics fishnet tights. It's a look that’s both battle-ready and stylish with a futuristic feel.

The bunny ears have a softer look and subtle curvature, adding a playful touch to her otherwise serious silhouette. Her long fluttering hair has a good sense of motion, as if she’s just turned to face you mid-combat.

Her gauntlets and thigh guards feature metallic finishes and layered textures, giving her a grounded, weighty presence.

Kneeling slightly angled, hips tilted, gaze locked forward, Botan’s stance is confident without being aggressive. She’s not charging into battle, she’s carefully waiting for you to make the first move.

She’s a great bishoujo figure and currently available for pre-order with a release date slated for March 2026.
