It’s yet another perfect day in Monstadt; under perfectly blue skies, a blessing courtesy of our Lord Barbatos, a peculiar traveler and their equally unique band of friends are fighting against the monsters that threaten the peace of these green hills. (ﾒ｀ﾛ´)/
Of course, during intense fights like these, bruises and scratches are inevitable, even for those blessed with a Vision. But worry not! The dandelion seeds floating in the wind seem to carry a sweet, healing melody. ♬♫♪◖(●。●)◗♪♫♬
They’re saved! The Deaconess of the Church of Favonius herself came to their rescue. (人ﾟ∀ﾟ)
Today we’re taking a look at this charming figure by Kotobukiya of the shining idol of Monstadt, Barbara Pegg! The figure maker is bringing her to this world in order to soothe our pains. Make a wish! ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ✩‧˚
Even without a Vision she would have been a great healer! Just the sight of this beaming smile makes all our problems disappear. (ृˊ◡˴⁎৲ु॰∘♡
Her character design is one of my personal favorites; it’s simple, as her role in Monstadt mandates it to be, but her style and accessories showcase the charisma that earned her that role in the first place.The ornate Vision she carries is a testament to her unwavering principle: hard work is the most miraculous magic of all! ( •̀ ᄇ• ́)ﻭ✧
Equally hardworking is Kotobukiya, who did an excellent job, as always! Every single detail, button, and frill is faithfully recreated, making her transition from the game world into this one appear seamless. Even the base, a small sample of the vast green fields of Monstadt, seems to exude the blessing of the Wind Archon!
“I’ll protect us!” says Barbara just before she hums her healing song. The light of her bright smile shines through the water droplets her Vision emanates, creating a liquid rainbow around her and her teammates. It flows and swirls happily to an otherworldly beat, blessing all around with a refreshing rain! (˘ ▽ ˘)
I love the translucence and the soft colors on her melody loop. This helps give it a mirage effect, especially when you see her for the first time. This is a good example of “if you can’t hide it, make it part of the piece”: did you see the rods that hold the musical notes up? Yeah, me neither. They're covered in stars as if it were part of the melody loop! ★─☆｡oﾟ｡★
