Hatsune Miku Figures
While Hatsune Miku might not be the first Vocaloid, she's certainly one, if not the most ubiquitous.
Miku's trademark look is one you've certainly seen before — turquoise twin tails held together by floating, square ribbons; a short skirt and collared shirt as an homage to Yamaha's signature blue-green synths; and thigh-highs and arm warmers decorated in motifs akin to Yamaha keyboards.
While her 2007 launch was not expected to be anything special, the cyber celebrity was immediately met with immense popularity. Magazines with CD samples of Miku's voicebank were selling out, and previous Vocaloid updates were already getting pushed aside for Hatsune Miku.
It was clear Hatsune Miku would be a game-changer for the world of Vocaloids.
More than a decade after her release, Miku's importance in the anime community remains huge. She is now part of the Piapro character lineup, which sees many new interpretations of the Vocaloid's style. She's such a beloved character that a Japanese man married a hologram of her in 2018 to show his love for her in a "concrete" form.
Her image as an otaku icon has not only remained but crossed over into the more mainstream world with a Coachella performance, late-night talk show visits, and even her signature Hatsune Miku blend of tea.
And while her bright, synthesized voice is one of her trademarks, Hatsune Miku as a figure is just as attention-worthy.
