Today we’re looking at a new release by Plusone and Stronger: Fate/Apocrypha’s Astolfo and Jeanne D’Arc as grid staff!
It is another figure in the Type-Moon racing series, which has already graced us with Saber and Tohsaka in the customary booty shorts of the racetracks.
Earlier last year we also had Mordred and Jeanne looking even racier and teaming up to wave the checkered flag on the winner of the Holy Grail Cup:
This month, however, she is back in Black with charming Astolfo! Everyone, clear the grid and marvel, because the saint and the paladin are on the track! And they’re here to inspire their champion to win the Holy Cup.
Given the knight’s role in the series, I was actually surprised that Astolfo is chilling in the garage instead of out there on the tarmac. I guess motor beasts are not his preferred mount. ʅ(́ ◡◝ )ʃ what’s a super fast machine when you have a mythical creature at your disposal, right?
It must be Sieg behind the wheel, then! Lucky kid...
Why does a homunculus have a more exciting life than me? (=ඔ ヘ ඔ=)
Put armor and cape aside: a not-so-modest miniskirt for La Pucelle and shorts for the snaggletooth paladin are the racetrack dress code. To keep with the autosports aesthetic, tops, bottoms and accessories are all in vinyl, looking as slick as a puddle of oil. The glossy ribbons on their hair are a very nice accent!
And gold details galore for both because their crew is here to win! (^▽^)/ The black and white palette is meant to intimidate; there’s a name on that finish line, and it belongs to the Black Faction!
Arm in arm the French besties balance precariously on a stack of tires. Astolfo is just about to tip his seat, while Jeanne holds on with the sheer power of… friction.
Of rubber.
Against skin.
Ouch. ☆⌒(>。<)
The knight’s golden aiguillettes and epaulettes are aflutter with all their goofing off. You wouldn’t believe that the paladin actually earned his rank with how he behaves. They must be the most rambunctious pair in the pit!
Jeanne’s Holy Battle Standard seems to have been replaced by a striped umbrella. A little blasphemous if you ask me, but I guess the Maid of Orléans has already done her job waving the checkered flag with Saber of Red. Now it’s the time for some fun!
You can definitely feel the synergy between the two, however! Ils sont comme cul et chemise...
Complete with matching hairstyles! Or is that what all fashionable French women wear?
What on Astolfo is just a cut-out on the chest, on Jeanne it becomes a window to heaven: the vinyl crop top really does her bosom justice. That’s most likely why she can get away with a simple white halter neck while the paladin needs a bedazzled military top to get some pizzazz up above.
I’m not throwing shade at his boyish figure though, I think the crop frock suits him.

Until next time ヾ(^∇^)
