Today we’re taking a look at this wonderful Pop Up Parade figure of Albedo (and many of her other equally wonderful figures) from the Overlord series! (´♡ᴗ♡`)
Regardless of her demonic nature, this release is a gift from figure heavens. Thank you, almighty Good Smile Company for yet another blessing! She is beautiful, highly detailed, AND, best of all, incredibly affordable. She goes for just a little over the price of a prize figure, but we get almost all the glory of a scale!（ ❁▿❁＊）

For those who are foreign to the world of isekai, here’s a quick intro to the Overlord anime series:
Written by Kugane Maruyama, this light novel was subsequently adapted into manga by Satoshi Ōshio and, finally, animated by Madhouse. Unlike many other anime in the genre, this one also refuses to be a bag of tired old tropes deriving from a bland-but-OP protagonist, and presents a fresh take on how game worlds should be (though not nearly as a satirical manner as KonoSuba). The influence of Dungeons & Dragons — and MMOs, of course — is visible in the series, with arcs feeling like campaigns you and I could have played! Because of how great it is, the series already has 3 seasons, with season 4 currently (I mean, July 2022) airing! 💻ﾍ(◕‿◕✰)
The series follows a player named Momonga, who finds himself trapped in his favorite dying game, Yggdrasil. There, he takes charge of his guild’s headquarters, the Great Tomb of Nazarick, and resumes his role of evil lord. With the help of NPCs who were carefully crafted by his former guildmates, he changes his name from Momonga to Ainz Ooal Gown and sets out into the new world, determined to leave his mark on it. <🔴(▼皿▼)🔴>
And here’s where the good part starts, because the players put so much time and effort into their NPCs that they might as well have breathed life into them. Among the most notable are the strategist Demiurge, the ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) vampire Shalltear Bloodfallen, and cute twins Aura Bella Fiore and Mare Bello Fiore. Everyone’s main duty is the defense of the headquarters against invaders who wish to pillage their powerful treasures; even the maids are able to decimate enemies!╭( ๐_๐)╮
At the very top, keeping this wacky host of NPCs in line, is the beautiful (and downright OP) Albedo, the Overseer of the Guardians. When one mentions the Overlord series, the first face that comes to mind is Albedo’s.
It’s easy to see why she’s so popular: her character design is the ultimate definition of gorgeous. Pop Up Parade figures are usually toned down on pose and details, but even when simplified, she’s still more stunning and eye-catching than previous Pop Up Parade releases! In my humble opinion, of course… (◔ᴥ◔)
She is the magnum opus of Tabula Smaragdina, the alchemy-loving player who created her. Originally made to be promiscuous, Albedo’s settings were later changed by Ainz Ooal Gown for her to simply be in love with himself. Can you feel the love emanating from those staggering amber eyes? Or do you feel…something else? (ᇴ‿ฺᇴ) Because there is lust there too. Lots of it. (￣︶￣ ;)
It was an unseen consequence of the new setting, and her intense feelings make for very comical moments in the series. (^_^;)
But here, brought to life by Good Smile Company (minus her romantic tendencies), Albedo is just pure beauty. (∗•ω•∗) She wears a gentle smile that betrays the perversion within. Make no mistake: Albedo looks elegant and dignified like an angel sent from heaven, but she is still a succubus.
One look and all weapons go down. One wave of her hand and all heads turn…and fall, because she’s also uber powerful. That curvaceous body of hers can bewitch anyone!
Her flowing raven hair gives the illusion of being another pair of wings, making her look like a cherubim. Both her hair and her wings have quite a lot of detail and movement. The stark contrast they make against her immaculate white dress only seems to add to her charm. With her simple, black and white palette, she can still lead your gaze away from other figures! o(｀*ω*´)
This absolutely stunning Pop Up Parade of Albedo is scheduled to be released at the end of December 2022.
