Summer is finally here with uncomfortably high temperatures and way too much sweating. With your AC going at full force, it is the perfect time of year to stay indoors and binge all of the anime shows you missed while they were airing. Don’t risk heat stroke by venturing out, instead bring summer indoors. In the past few months, figure companies have been announcing their own bikini version and summer themed figures. Let’s check out some great figures available for pre-order so you can admire summer on your shelf without worrying about skin cancer!
Anime
Spy Classroom
Beach episodes are a staple in anime so of course many figures have a bikini version. Spy Classroom's Erna gets a nicely done figure thanks to Union Creative. Her long blonde hair contrasts nicely with the black bikini. The addition of a skirt is also a nice choice and appropriate for the character.
Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina
As Elaina travels the world it is only natural for her to eventually visit a beach. This re-release figure from FuRyu features Elaina in a summer dress, strolling along the coast. The blue jacket and hat preserve Elaina's image as a witch and the dress and shoes give some mature vibes. There is great sense of movement in the figure and we can feel the gentle breeze pass by.
Fairy Tail
Orca Toys put a lot of effort into this figure of Juvia Lockser. Her pose shows her confidently strutting her stuff. The sculpt paid extra attention to showing muscle definition in areas that count. The attempt at creating a wet shirt is a bit underwhelming with it looking more like a clear vinyl one but lets face it. That's not the reason you would buy this figure. If you are a fan of the character and like bishoujo figures, it doesn't get much better than this!
Summer Time Rendering
It may not really count as a special summer themed figure but Good Smile brings us Ushio in her swimsuit which we are accustomed to seeing. Her long hair blowing in the gentle sea breeze and her looking back at you with a soft expression is a charming visual. The addition of the spider lily behind her adds a bit of an ominous feel and nods to the darker, mystery element of the series. The base features a beach scene and as the title says, is reminiscent of summer time.
This figure is designed with a companion figure of Shinpei. The bases are designed to allow them to be displayed together seamlessly.
My Dress-Up Darling
FuRyu's affordable, non-scale Tenitol line has a decent figure of Marin which should be released within the next one to two months! You can get equally as excited about summer vacation with Marin at the beach. A cute and expression, playful and dynamic pose and good shading makes this a fun summer themed figure to consider!
Classroom of the Elite
If you are an elite, you gotta look great. No one can argue that Honami looks stunning in a high performance competition swimsuit. Hobby Stock did a great job choosing an alluring pose and very nice coloring in this figure. Hopefully Kei and the rest of the gang will get something similar ^.^
Mushoku Tensei
Phat Company is well known for their bishoujo and risqué figures. Their summer take on Roxy is no exception. It is a 1/3 scale so it is a bit bigger than what you might expect with the more standard 1/7 size. This is definitely one of those figures that you know you want but probably shouldn't. Each figure comes with complimentary family disappointment and disgusted looks!
To LOVEru Darkness: FREEing
To LOVEru is a classic ecchi harem series that never seems to fall out of popularity. Despite the story finishing several years ago, this series still sees plenty of love, and figures! A variety of manufacturers have made some great bikini versions for us to consider. FREEing has given us something unique with a cast-off version. Their 1/4 scale figures of Yami and Momo can be displayed in a bikini or in their gym uniform. They look great individually or as a pair. Since the gym uniform is fabric you can have the option to semi cast-off which adds a whole lotta spice and may just be the best way to view these cuties! Yabai!
To LOVEru Darkness: Mimeyoi/Union Creative International
Momo has a second 1/4 scale option that is a bit less ecchi but still 100 percent bishoujo. The pose is less overt and is something more akin to a nice beach date. Her expression is cute and it is a solid figure. There is a similar Pop Up Parade version that is already available.
Tearju
Meganekko never seem to get the love they respect. Almost always destined to be a side character, fans of the glasses girl aesthetic are sometimes disappointed with figures available. This figure of Tearju should satisfy any collector who appreciates the charm of a girl in glasses. Even if you are not a big fan of the character, you have to appreciate this well done figure.
To LOVEru Darkness: Ques Q
Every good series needs a good imouto character and Mikan delivers. While corn on the cob is a staple of a good summer barbeque, we know Ques Q added it for other reasons and they might as well hit you in the head with this innuendo. At least it wasn't a half melted ice pop!

Azur Lane
An Island Breeze Rolls In
If you are a fan of shipgirls then Shimakaze needs no introduction. An incredibly iconic character from Kantai Collection, this bunny girl is very well known in the anime community. Azur Lane kept the bunny girl theme and their rendition is just as good. Elegant has crafted a superb figure of Shimakaze at the beach. Available for pre-order as a basic figure...
...or a DX version which has added scenery to the base, this is a perfect figure to represent summer!
Heading Home For Summer
Manufacturer Daiki Kougyou is best known for their adult figures but they don't limit themselves to one area. Taking Tosa's Hometown Zest skin from the game, they have recreated it in figure form! Grab a chair and soak up some sun ^.^
First Romance In August
As a big fan of Kancolle's Hatsuzuki, I am happy anytime we get more of Hatsukun. The Azur Lane version has a very different visual with its own unique charm. This time, AniGame recreates her August's First Romance skin into a fun figure.
From River To Ocean
Named after the Kumano river, heavy cruiser Kumano is here to make a splash. Phat company have crafted a very dynamic figure, with a great sense of movement. This would be a great addition to any bishoujo or summer themed collection!
A Summer Date With Cheshire
Good Smile gives fans what we want with this excellent figure of Cheshire! The expression is cute. The pose is great. The sculpt is perfect for a bishoujo figure. Cheshire's bikini and shades combined with the summer lounge chair set the scene for a relaxing summer day!
Summer Vacation In France
Design Coco always nails their figures and Emile Bertin is no exception. Aside from Emile herself looking great, the base is a fun summer scene at the beach. The torpedo and turret floaties keep the ship girl spirit and Emile's swimsuit is elegant and alluring!
Blue Archive
Azusa Shirasu
Blue Archive has some of the nicest summer themed skins in a gacha game and they look great as figures! This figure of Azusa has a lot going on with an interesting pose and fun, creative base. She is all packed and ready to enjoy her beach vacation!
Hina Sorasaki
Originally created as a garage kit and sold at Summer Wonder festival 2023, this figure of Hina was very popular. Good Smile wanted to capitalize on the hype so teaming up with the garage kit sculptor, they are making it available as a completed, prepainted scale! Since it is Hina, I would assume the after market price on this will probably go up so pre-ordering might be a good idea.
Hoshino Takanashi
Similar to the figure of Azusa, we have a very fun and dynamic figure of Hoshino. We have good sense of motion with her blowing hair and jacket so you can feel the energy of a playful day at the beach. The base is adorned with extra beach accessories but the sand effect does look a little underwhelming.
Original Characters
Shino and Ren
Shino and Ren is an original series by author and artist Minori Chigusa. They are a well known creator of yuri and girls love. In the story Shino is a calm and gentle girl and this figure is a great representation of her. No news regarding a summer swimsuit version of her counter half Ren but there are more figures coming from the series. Except to see more Shino as Shino and Ren is fairly popular on Japanese SNS.
King's Proposal
If you are a fan of Date A Live, you may want to check out King's Proposal. It is a recent light novel series currently ongoing. The author and illustrator are the same duo who brought us Date A Live. In the series Kurara is a beautiful girl who can be repulsive at times due to her outlandish and extravagant style. I think this figure of her getting sticky in a bikini is a great way to show off the character. The coloring is the major standout point here.
Teacher Teacher
Teacher Teacher is an original doujinshi by illustrator duo TwinBox. Before you go googling, be warned it is an R-18 adults only, explicit story. The figure however is safe for work, if you work from home and don't get many visitors. Shiori is one of their poster girls and with TwinBox's large fanbase, this will be the second re-release for this figure. Will you succumb to Shiori's attempt to seduce you at the beach?
One More Cup of Vacation
Another very popular illustrator, Necömi also has a summer themed figure available for pre-order. Her playful expression, sticking out her tongue in a teasing fashion is adorable. The outfit and pose are simple but unique and works well with Necömi's style. Have a relaxing night on the beach with some adult beverages!
Summer Waiter
You have seen it plenty of times. A cute anime girl inexplicably trips over nothing and somehow has a clothing malfunction. This figure captures the moments just before sure disaster for this clumsy summer waiter. She may even be related to Ryza, because dang, she's thick!
Mira
If the last figure wasn't thick enough for you or her thighs were underwhelming compared to Ryza, this one should check the box. The thigh connoisseur himself is responsible for the illustration this figure was based on. Toridamono is the character designer for the Ryza series and has some of the best creations, all nice and plump. We may have to do an artist spotlight for them in the near future since they have so many great figures to showcase!
