What happens when one of anime’s most iconic robot girls gets a figure that looks like she stepped straight out of a dream? Magi Arts’ new 1/6‑scale Chii might just be the most ethereal version of her yet.
Chobits, created by the legendary manga group CLAMP, is a romantic sci‑fi story set in a world where humanoid computers (persocoms) live alongside humans. The series explores how technology shapes relationships, identity, and emotional connection, all wrapped in CLAMP’s diverse visual style. At its heart, Chobits asks a deceptively simple question: Can a machine truly love? And if so, what does that mean for the humans who love them back?
The story follows Hideki Motosuwa, a struggling student who dreams of owning a persocom but can’t afford one. His life changes when he discovers a discarded girl‑shaped persocom in the trash. She can’t speak, can’t connect to networks, and seems to know nothing about the world. As Hideki teaches her language, emotions and daily life, the series slowly reveals the deeper truth behind her existence.
Chii is the central heroine of Chobits, a rare and legendary type of persocom known as a Chobit, believed to possess true artificial intelligence and the capacity for genuine emotion. She begins the story with no memories and only one word she can say: Chii, which becomes her name. Her innocence, curiosity, and gentle nature make her instantly endearing.
Chii’s design is iconic: long platinum‑blonde hair, soft expressions, and a delicate, almost fairy‑like presence. Translating that ethereal quality into a figure is no small task, which is why Magi Arts’ attempt has drawn so much attention.
When I initially saw photos, I thought it was photoshopped. There is something magical going on with her face that I can't quite put into words. With it on display at this past wonder festival, I can happily say, it's not Photoshop.
Magi Arts’ Chii captures her with a level of grace that feels almost weightless. Her long hair flowing behind her and her dress rippling in layered ruffles is all executed with flawless perfection.
The sculpt leans heavily into CLAMP’s aesthetic: curled posture, gentle expression, and an airy silhouette that feels serene and dreamlike. The Deluxe Edition includes an interchangeable eyes closed face, adding a tender, intimate option for display.
The paintwork emphasizes softness with subtle gradients in her dress, warm tones in her eyes, and delicate shading that enhances the folds of her outfit.
At 1/6 scale and with a lot of width, this is a figure that should be more of a centerpiece in a collection. The base is simple and unobtrusive, allowing the sculpt to take center stage. For longtime Chobits fans, Magi Arts’ Chii is a nostalgic treasure. It's an elegant, lovingly crafted tribute to one of anime’s most memorable heroines. Dreamy, delicate, and unmistakably Chii, this figure is a beautiful celebration of CLAMP’s timeless creation.
