People are often drawn to original characters because they offer a unique and fresh perspective. These characters allow creators to explore new narratives, personalities, and worlds, fostering a sense of creativity and ownership. They also bring diversity and innovation, making the work more engaging and dynamic. Overall, original characters enrich the creative landscape by introducing novel ideas and can quickly grow a fan base. Many illustrators have their own poster girl but there is one thing missing. Other than a great design and eye pleasing visual we don't really know anything about the character.rurudo is one of the most talented freelance illustrators who has been exploding in popularity. They gained significant recognition as the character designer for Hololive’s Towa Tokoyami and original yuri duo Eve and Elle. Eve and Elle have been around for several years now, being featured at rurudo's solo art exhibits and common focus of doujinshi at Comiket. They are so popular you can find fanart and other original characters inspired by rurudos work.

Eve and Elle are ethereal characters, depicted with wings and an almost yin and yang air to them. rurudo’s work is always highly detailed and expressive, but is never usually overly explicit. Eve and Elle are typically shown in precarious situations, sometimes with wardrobe malfunctions or intimate yuri moments but always with the right balance of ecchi and class.

These top-tier characters were alluring and fans wanted more. The art is great, but who are they and what is their actual relationship? In comes Keishi Ayasato, a fantasy light novel author. Together, illustrator rurudo and Ayasato collaborated to create Carneades, a story focused on Eve and Elle, giving a backstory and evolving the two from just illustrations to full fledged characters.

Eve is a devil who feasts on people’s fear and has a knack for escaping prison. Elle is a member of the elite angel police tasked with catching Eve. During their game of cat and mouse, they are attacked by a monster and the two are forced to work together to escape. After the incident, in a suicide squad-esq turn of events the once convict Eve is forced to partner up with Elle who is equally as begrudged. As the two become friends, they form a bond and begin to trust each other. The characters and story are written to fit the imagery originally presented by rurudo with plenty of yuri happenings and the demon/angel pair not being all that scary or all powerful.

Eve and Elle have had several figures created in the past but now being supported by an official story, Good Smile Company have taken the volume 1 cover of Carneades and giving Elle her first figure from the series.

The figure is a perfect representation of rurudo's artistic sense, character design and allure while simultaneously showcasing Elle and what we can expect from Carneades.

rurudo excels at crafting characters with long flowy hair and Elle is no exception. Fluttering around her, the long locks add a sense of movement but keep Elle in full view. Good Smile also didn't skimp out, added several individual strands of hair to give more realism. Very commonly figures will get a check of plastic with some detailing for bangs but here, much more detail can be seen.

Being a police angel, the hat atop Elle’s head and the gloves attempt to give that vibe. Truthfully, it doesn't really scream police and might be a bit more reminiscent of a train conductor. Elle’s big red eyes provide contrast with her pearlescent hair and pale features. Elle's adorable yet dignified expression can be seen peeking out from under her cap.

Aside from long locks, rurudo also focuses on characters that have petite and delicate physiques. If you like em big, then you will most likely be disappointed with rurudos offerings. Dressed in a sleek black and white outfit that perfectly balances edginess and elegance, Elle fuses celestial charm and stylish authority!

The revealing outfit makes it hard to resist Elle’s feminine wiles. While all parts of her outfit are long enough to keep things covered, it is also short enough to make things interesting.

Set to release in October of 2025, Elle is currently available for pre-order. Recent rurudo figures have shot up in price on the secondary market so if this is a must buy for you, reserving yours today is definitely recommended!

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed!
