Halloween has been increasing in popularity over the past few years in Japan, so figure companies have been creating some Halloween-themed and (not so) spooky figures.

From witches and ghosts to your favorite characters dressed in Halloween costumes, these figures get a fun spin and interesting outfits that capture the essence of the holiday. Whether you're a fan of classic horror or just love the festive spirit, there's something for everyone. Kotobukiya Blends Beauty and Terror with Horror Bishoujo Figures

When we think about classic horror movies, we usually picture big scary bad men. Kotobukiya decided the world would be a better place if we had bishoujo to terrorize us instead. Enter the world of Horror Bishoujo figures, where the line between beauty and terror blurs in the most captivating ways. These figures reimagine iconic horror characters through a lens of seduction and charm, transforming the grotesque into something oddly glamorous.

Horror Bishoujo figures breathe new life into characters like Leatherface. Depicted mid-action, wielding a bloody chainsaw above her head, she is a well done gender swap. Her outfit, a torn blouse revealing a purple bra and form fitting ripped trousers, adds a blend of horror and allure.

For fans of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the iconic chainsaw dance scene is well clearly shown as the inspiration. Switching out the yellow apron with the yellow shirt suits the female version more. It is a fun and interesting piece which merges classic terror with a modern bishoujo twist.

Many of these horror bishoujo figures are based on pin-up artist Shunya Yamashita’s design. Specializing in pin-ups, the bishoujo elements really shine through. Beetlejuice was such a popular figure that a re-release is currently available for pre-order. The black and white striped outfit and green hair combined with the tombstone makes it easy to recognize by horror fans.
The strong makeup and half-up ponytail bring out the free spirited personality and wild energy we would expect from Beetlejuice.

Having Beetlejuice filing her nails while leaning against the tombstone adds a touch of eerie elegance.

One of the biggest icons of Japanese horror is also available for pre-order in bishoujo mode. VHS tapes may be a thing of the past but Sadako is sticking around to haunt your tv and flood your living room.

Japanese ghosts have a thing for long hair. Sadako’s long black hair covers her face but it comes with an optional piece that shows her beautiful peeper with a lonely expression peeking out. With these options, you can select what level of horror you want.

Kotobukiya attempts to recreate her white dress by utilizing some clear parts to create the appearance of wet garments. The design shows Sadako floating, hovering above a pile of videotapes.

Original Characters Dedicated to Halloween

Halloween in Japan is more for adults than kids. Trick or treating isn't really a thing, with knocking on strangers doors seen as extremely impolite. As a party holiday for adults, the original characters emphasizing the holiday are generally more risque and revealing. Just take a look at Astrum Design’s Halloween Succubus.

The outfit may be skimpy and very revealing but it still embodies Halloween. The orange, black and purple color palette is most appropriate.

Succubus-chan has an inviting expression. The figure also shows some nice detail and added accessories like the pumpkin in the bow.

The base gets some love as well, creating some graveyard imagery. Old style lamps combined with jack-o'-lanterns always bring the spooky vibes. A succubus this endearing however keeps it more bishoujo than horror.

Following the succubus theme, Momoroser gives us a figure with a twist. It glows in the dark! Glowing little succubus Momoko-chan’s tail, horns and wings can be your nightlight if your scared.

Admittedly this is more of a standard bishoujo figure from the design but succubus can always work for Halloween. The design is simple but effective at grabbing attention.

The jack-o'-lantern is synonymous with Halloween and pumpkins are a staple of any good holiday display. If you need a little more for yours, Pumpkin Princess is just what you have been waiting for.

The princess herself has the orange, black and purple color scheme for her outfit.

The pumpkin armor was well made to give an intimidating and menacing look. Giving it fiery red eyes with spooky green accents makes it feel like something straight from hell.

As a posable figure, the display options are nearly endless. You can have fun getting creative with how you want to show her off.

The additional accessories and parts allow you to make a true masterpiece.

Virtual Trick or Treating with Hatsune Miku

Celebrate Halloween with the enchanting Trick or Miku figure by Union Creative. This delightful figure showcases Hatsune Miku in an adorable Halloween-themed outfit.

Miku is floating with ghost-like vibes holding a festive jack-o'-lantern. Her iconic twin tails get pumpkin-ified and transition from turquoise to orange.

Candy and treats decorate the base to add a charming touch and capture the festive spirit.

All Your Favorite Characters Celebrate Halloween

Orca Toys recently revived two of their old but very popular Fairy Tail figures. Using the same design, they gave the figures a Halloween makeover. Lucy has always been a fan favorite and its easy to see why. The Halloween variant for the gravure style gets a pumpkin design.
The pillow behind her also gets an updated spooky design.To partner with Lucy, Erza got a similar recolor. As a Halloween cat Erza has the same pumpkin themed design to freshen up the gravure outfit.
Ayakashi Triangle was one of the animes that suffered from long delays during the pandemic. This could be part of the reason that the gender bending romantic comedy never really got popular and was quickly forgotten by most. Suzu and Matsuri are a great pair and Flare's recent figure of the duo has just started accepting pre-orders! It is perfect timing since the design is great for Halloween.
The Gotoubun gang gets into the Halloween spirit as well. In their Fallen Angel figures, each character gets a gothic style dress and jet black angel wings. Standing atop a black rose on the base, these figures make a nice collection of their own.
Rice Shower got a vampire makeover based on her Umamusume: Pretty Derby in game skin.

Umamusume isn't the only game to share some treats. Azur Lane also has some figures based on in game Halloween skins. Royal Fortune's Treats from the Deep is hauntingly adorable. The figure has some nice painting using gloss and matte finishes to simulate different textures of clothing. The added manjuus are a nice bonus.
Manchester is ready to dish out tricks as a Devil in White. The sculpt has nice attention to detail showing muscle definition in the abdomen and well done wings and hair. This is another excellent bishoujo figure for any season.
iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls may no longer be able to be played but the game can live on in your heart and on your shelf. Koume loves the playful spirit of Halloween so she went all out. Ready to scare trick or treaters, this Halloween Nightmare figure is packed with detail.
Sachiko and Minami also have some alternative costume designs that have a bit of playful, Halloween-esq spirit to them.
Last up for this list is Date A Live. Kurumi feels like the embodiment of Halloween at times. Her yandere personality, black and orange gothic style dress and ghastly atmosphere is always attention grabbing. However, even Kurumi likes to dress up for Halloween. Taito turned her into a charming little akuma in one of their prize figures. The standard Akuma Ver. is in red and the Shouakuma Ver. in white.
Kurumi isn't the only Halloween character from Date A Live. When Natsumi transforms, she becomes a seductive witch. Bell Fine's figure is getting a re-release with pre-orders currently open. They enhance the Halloween imagery by adding some nice touches to the base.
