A teacher's job is to guide their students. Normally this would be restricted to your standard math, science, history, etc, but in the academic city-state of Blue Archive's Kivotos, that also includes tactical combat!Since 2021, Blue Archive has been growing in popularity thanks to its anime-style graphics and top tier character design. Even if you never played this mobile RPG, there is a good chance you have seen fan art of the characters. In fact, Blue Archive characters are so popular that at winter comiket 2023, it was one of the largest sections even beating VTubers in terms of number of circles attending. In the game, you play as a Sensei (teacher) who forms teams of students to engage in tactical, real-time combat in order to resolve various incidents and uncover secrets within Kivotos. The game has also inspired an anime adaptation, which just recently finished airing this past June.
The students you guide are all unique characters with their own backstories, personalities, and abilities. They are divided into different schools, each specializing in different combat styles and tactics. While there are tons of characters to fall in love with, today's star is Hibiki Nekozuka.
Hibiki is a student at the Millennium Science School and a member of the Engineering Department. In games, engineer usually means heavy weapons and shotguns and that holds true here. Hibiki wields a mortar launcher and serves as an attacker. Combat prowess aside, there's another side to Hibiki that fans adore. Her personality is somewhat introverted and unsociable, leading to adorably awkward interactions. She also enjoys cosplaying, with one of her notable outfits being a cheerleader costume. There have been several garage kits made by hobby enthusiasts and a Pop Up Parade iteration for this very popular design.
Alice Glint and Thousand have recreated Hibiki’s cheerleader outfit in the first scale figure which is currently available for pre-order. Unlike the Pop Up Parade version, this figure is a recreation based on the in-game skin visual. The lore behind the outfit is that it was originally a cosplay costume she made during her early days of cosplaying. Hibiki feels a bit embarrassed wearing the outfit because it was made when she was smaller, so it may be more revealing then she had originally thought. The embarrassed expression adds so much charm to the figure.Hibiki has a very cute character design. With black wavy hair tied into a ponytail and black floppy dog ears we get a different moe look than the usual perky kemomimi that are added. The cheerleading outfit consists of a light blue and white bikini-like top and a light blue and a matching pleated skirt. Her pose has an innocent allure. Leaning forward while tugging down on her skirt matches the embarrassment as she tries to cover up but also holds the viewers attention to delicate areas. The vibrant yellow pom poms have significant detail to make them look genuine. They have a layered visual which mimics real pom poms well. The addition of a white detached collar and name tag around Hibiki's neck fits the dog theme and acts as another anchor to draw attention.
In addition to ears, Hibiki also has a bushy black tail with a matching white tip. The tail does a nice job of keeping things mostly safe for work and avoiding having an explicit figure due to the nature of Hibiki's extremely short skirt. If you want a bit more of an ecchi vibe, that can be easily accomplished by adding some well placed mirrors to your display or placing on a higher shelf. This figure is the perfect mix of cute, risqué and character personality. Seeing the usually introverted Hibiki venturing out of her comfort zone creates a fun figure that will certainly put a smile on your face.Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed!
