Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”
Imagine a world where the line between 2D and 3D blurs, and your favorite fictional character steps off the page and into your life. If you met your waifu or husbando in real life, what would you do? 2.5-Dimensional Seduction attempts to explore that premise in a chaotic, entertaining and sometimes heartwarming story.

The story follows Okumura, a manga club president who’s utterly devoted to his 2D waifu, Liliel. It's understandable since 3D comes with baggage while 2D can be your perfect, unchanging ideal. Okumura enjoys being the lone member of the manga club, decorating the room with posters of his beloved. His quiet days are turned upside down when one of those pesky 3D girls decides to infiltrate his sacred place.

The series does well at poking fun of otaku culture while celebrating it. Okumura is a die hard otaku whose passion for anime overtakes common sense and societal decency. He is the type of person who will scream in public while watching his favorite show, making others question his sanity. Due to childhood trauma he is a broken person, engrossing himself in his hobbies as a way to escape. Who knew a trashy anime show could be so relatable…

Part of this childhood trauma resulted in him swearing off real girls. The manga club was his safe space where he could be free from everyday problems. That is until Ririsa Amano, a cosplay enthusiast with a knack for bringing 2D characters to life throws Okumura’s world into disarray. One day Ririsa pays a visit to the manga club and after showing her passion for otaku hobbies and deep knowledge of Okumura’s waifu, Liliel, he reluctantly accepts her.

Ririsa seals the deal by cosplaying as Liliel. As an avid cosplayer, she boldly changed into Liliel causing Okumura to faint from his prayers being answered. A good cosplayer is nothing without someone to take their photo. She ropes Okumura into being her cameraman and their relationship develops from there.

All good trash anime need a rival for the main girl and Mikari Tachibana fills that role. Mikari fell in love with Okumura at a young age and tried desperately to get his attention, going so far as to try and change her appearance to look more like Liliel. The main problem was that she hated manga and anything otaku. Having nothing in common, they were never able to build a relationship or become friends.

After a series of events, Mikari finds herself in the manga club room and is shocked to see Okumura photographing Ririsa. Fueled by jealousy and determined to win Okumura's heart, she tries her hand at cosplay as well. If you enjoyed My Dress Up Darling you may enjoy 2.5-Dimensional Seduction. It is a bit more low brow but has a very similar premise.
The show was pretty popular and has a second season announced. With popularity comes merchandise and this series has had a lot of prize figures released but not many scales so far. FuRyu is changing that by giving fans 1/7 scales of the cosplay duo!The figures show Ririsa and Mikari cosplaying as members of the Angel Airborne Corps. This is the main series Okumura is obsessed with and the origin of his beloved Liliel. The blonde haired beauty Ririsa becomes Liliel while Mikari transforms into another character, Miriella.

After looking at some of the prize figures what immediately pops out is the paintwork. Using glossy paint for the outfits gives a somewhat latex image and the pink highlights are vibrant.

Both Mikari and Ririsa have cute expressions and are caught mid pose at a cosplay event, ready for you to snap a photo.

Their wings don't have a ton of detail but that is actually a benefit here. As a cosplay prop we shouldn't expect something all that lifelike. Instead we have something believable that a cosplayer could quickly throw together. The sculpt of their hair and outfits are solid. It's not overly complex, just tight and compact.

The color scheme works well together. We have black and white contrast but very similar outfit designs to complement each other. Ririsa and Mikari’s angel cosplay is the iconic look from the series. For fans, FuRyu is offering figures that are a good representation and at a quality we would expect. You can pre-order Ririsa and Mikari today!

Hopefully we will also get a school uniform version in the near future. I think having Ririsa and Mikari in cosplay next to their everyday look could make for a nice display.

Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed!
