This book is pretty well-rounded. It has maps that show the entirety of the area (all of the routes, Chargestone Cave, etc.) as well as sections where you can see what kind of Pokemon major opponents have such as the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, N, and Ghetsis. Since this is a complete clear guide, it has steps for each place that guide you through to completion, although since the book is entirely in Japanese (the kanji has furigana by the way) and I'm not that kind of player, I just skimmed over those parts so I can't tell you how clear or vague the steps are. Also, I did purchase this book used and despite that the book was in really good condition.
