Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”
It’s October and that can only mean one thing — spooky season is officially here!
(∿°○°)∿
Our team is getting into the spirit of things and we want to celebrate with you.
All you need to do is write “Trick or Treat” in the order notes at check-out and we’ll include a Japanese candy or snack with your order*! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و
We’re also bringing back regular blog posts! Stay tuned for all things Halloween this month...and then some.(*^∇゜)v
Here are some of the goodies you could get (please note that we're only sending one piece of candy, not a whole bag!):
Corn Pottage Umaibo
First up is Umaibo — literally “delicious stick.” ( ̄ω ̄;) Silly names aside, it’s a childhood classic in Japan that’s a, well, stick of puffed corn that comes in all sorts of flavors that range from savory okonomiyaki to sweet apple pie.
We’ve snagged corn pottage, a creamy soup flavor that pops up in a lot of convenience store snacks...and is honestly a bit addicting. This is a small thing, but seeing which costumed Umaemon (yup, the mascot’s name is a pun on Doraemon) shows up on the wrapper adds to the fun of this quirky snack every time we reach for another one.
Country Ma'am Cookies
Okay, the devilishly cute and witchy Peko-chan art got us, but Country Ma’am cookies are where the real danger lies. Addicting would be an understatement.
Both vanilla (with chocolate chips) and cocoa are knockouts in the comfort food department; they’re scrumptiously chewy and pack a surprisingly nostalgic punch. (っ˘ڡ˘ς) They’re everything we’d ever want from a homemade cookie, but bite-sized!
Apollo Chocolate
You may recognize Apollo chocolate from your local Asian (or regular!) grocery store, but we couldn’t pass up these mini Mt. Fujis with a festive spin.
Yes, the regular packaging is iconic at this point, but there’s something that’s just so satisfying about the Halloween change-up. Little pyramid packaging with itty bitty cones of chocolate and strawberry goodness inside is just…٩(♡ε♡ )۶
Ramune Candy Tablets
Ramune’s been around for over 100 years, but confession — we were today years old when we learned that “Ramune” comes from the word “lemonade.”( °o° )It all makes sense now.
True to their name, these melt-in-your-mouth Ramune Fruit candies have an extra boost of fruitiness and fizz. However, while regular Ramune has a refreshing lemony-lime bite, these candies are lighter and perfect for snacking~
Speaking of snacking, we’re a bit hungry after all that. (^_^ ; ) Feeling the same? Don’t forget to write “Trick or Treat” in the order notes when you check out!
Whether you’re into savory or sweet snacks, we hope you like these goodies as much as we do and everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!
