Pre-Order Maid Cat Mo-chan Now And Save 10%!

Welcome to the Solaris Blog! ヾ( ʚ̴̶̷ .̫ ʚ̴̶̷ )ノ”

At the start of the year many people are eager to follow through on their New Year resolutions. For collectors, that sometimes includes reigning in their budgets and limiting expensive figure purchases. That is a noble goal but if you are like me, you fail rather quickly as new pre-orders become available. Well known figure manufacturers like Good Smile and FuRyu have been steadily increasing their prices with no signs of slowing down. This has been making decisions much more difficult and selecting the next addition to a collection a much more careful choice. Luckily, within the past few years many new manufacturers have been popping up with a focus on more affordable, budget friendly offerings.
Last year I wrote an article about one such manufacturer, Bear Panda highlighting their great figure designs, affordable prices and unknown quality. So far these new manufacturers have been making collectors happy with their purchase and no major quality issues have been noticed. Hopefully this trend will continue with the new manufacturer, Freyja!

Maid Cat Mo-chan is the second figure release from Freyja and it looks like they are willing to take some risks with unique ideas. Their initial figure release was priced a bit high making collectors a bit hesitant from the uncertain quality of a new company. It might be long term trauma for getting burned by B’full FOTS Japan on terrible quality figures, but being cautious isn't bad.

Mo-chan is ready to sweep you away with her feline charm and a dash of domestic allure. She is the cutest blend of cat girl moe and maid elegance.

Kemomimi and a tail are all that's needed to add some cuteness to the gravure-esque image. Mo-chan’s striking pink hair adds the right balance of color and her feline smile gives her a playful expression.

Her outfit and pose is just revealing enough to make things interesting without going overboard. To enhance the ecchi vibes, Freyja added a mirror base so you can get a few different angles. (っಠ‿ಠ)っ
Originally announced as a 1/6 scale figure, Mo-chan got a size upgrade. She is now listed as a 1/4 scale and around 17cm tall. She is definitely a bigger figure but may be a slightly smaller than some traditional 1/4 scales.

She was also announced with a special feature, her upper half would be made out of a squishy material. We all love oppai mousepads but have you ever considered giving your figures a squeeze? It seems most collectors have not and were worried about potential issues this unfamiliar material may cause. Freyja took the feedback and decided to make the squishy part replaceable with a standard hard plastic upper half.

Finally, we have the duster to complete the maid theme. No official announcement has been made by Freyja explicitly saying they are including the duster but many retailers are listing it and all promotional photos show it. There is a good chance it will be included but not 100% guaranteed. Assuming it is included as shown, the different material used in the feathers could give some nice texture to the figure visual.

Mo-chan is currently available for pre-order and eligible for our early bird discount. By pre-ordering early you can save 10%! She is supposed to release at the end of July, 2025 but that may be delayed. Freyja's first figure was supposed to already ship but had been pushed back due to production scheduling issues and poor sales.

Does this new manufacturer have a lot of potential to become a bigger player in the figure market? Leave a comment and let us know what you think of Mo-chan and Freyja.
