Today’s Early Bird special is Dawn and Piplup from the Diamond and Pearl Pokemon series!
This confident Pokemon trainer (known as Hikari in Japanese) and her companion Piplup (or Pochama) are the next to join Kotobukiya’s ARTFX J lineup!
Her outfit from the Diamond and Pearl games has been recreated perfectly (minus her yellow bag) - unlike the side-tied scarf she wears in the anime, Dawn wears her red scarf in a reverse drape with its two tails billowing in front of her.
Even the smaller details, like her Poketch and gold hair clips, have also been included. (๑´• .̫ •ू`๑)
Even though the figure maintains Pokemon’s unique and simple art style, there is still a nice blend of more realistic sculpts, like the wrinkling of her boots or the indents around her elbow.
As if preparing for an exciting battle, Dawn is posed stretching out her arms. The lacing of her fingers and the lines of her palm are a really nice touch! ꒰･‿･๑꒱
Adding to this battle-ready look is Dawn’s confident expression - with her eyebrows pulled down slightly and mouth wide open in a smile, you can feel her energy and enthusiasm pouring out!
